  • To enhance the quality of the discussion on SDC, we ask that you abide by the guidelines outlined in this document when posting messages, e-mailing, or using the private message system of SDC.

    Decency:
SDC forums are intended for users of all ages, therefore persons of a younger age should be taken into consideration when posting content. We expect a degree of mutual respect among the members here and we expect some courtesy. No posts containing profanity, obscenity, insults, personal attacks, accusations, abusive content, specific attempts to cause chaos, disruption or headaches to the community members or staff will not be tolerated. Posts should be Positive, Family Friendly.

Foul language will not be tolerated:
Please show respect for yourself and the members of SDC. Many profanities are automatically removed by the forum software; any attempts to circumvent the censoring imposed by the board will be considered a violation. Using asterisks (*) or other characters to get around the language filter is still considered profanity, as is using abbreviations that stand for profanity.
If any words have been missed from the filter, please contact a moderator or administrator.

Explicit and Pornographic material will not be tolerated:
This includes; posts, avatars, hyper links, or signatures, but is not limited to any distasteful photographs or images containing explicit imagery. Furthermore, this includes those of a graphic or vulgar nature, which would be deemed unsuitable for a community forum for all ages. All files and content linked to/or from the forums are subject to the same content guidelines as those posts directly on the forums.

Flaming will not be tolerated (the act of being offensive towards others):
We try to allow people to voice their opinions, and allow for debate; however we do not want to see posts that offend other forum members. Members are required to refrain from creating topics which serve no purpose other than to cause discord, or from intentionally posting controversial or contrary messages to bait members into an argument. Posts can be taken different ways by different people. Posts will be moderated on how they are taken by SDC, unless your meaning/intentions are made clear in post.

    Be respectful:
The SDC community and its members treat one another with respect. We may not always agree, but disagreement is no excuse for poor behavior and poor manners. We might all experience some frustration now and then, but we cannot allow that frustration to turn into a personal attack. It's important to remember that disagreements happen all the time and the SDC community is no exception. The important goal is not to avoid disagreements or differing views but to resolve them constructively.

    Stay on topic:
SDC has many different forums available. Make your posts in the forum that best fits what your post is about. Specific guidelines for each forum will be available within them. If it seems to not fit in any forum, post it in the “Slick Tree” forum. Posts should contribute to the thread they are posted in. Spam or completely off topic posts will be deleted.

For Sale items must be posted in classified forum or they will be deleted.
Commercial operations must purchase a banner to advertise.

    Reporting Posts:
Should you spot a post you feel requires the attention of a Moderator or Administrator, report it. Please be aware that while this forum is moderated regularly it may not always be possible to address posts that require moderation immediately, however all “problem” posts will be dealt with.

    User Accounts:
    1. Use these guidelines also when selecting user names.
    2. Accounts with invalid, non-working or that block contact from SDC will be removed.
    3. The use of multiple accounts is prohibited.

    Political posts:
Political posts that don’t affect hunting or hunters rights are not allowed.

    Contacting Staff:
Staff may be contacted regarding content violating the guidelines, site errors, or any other matter of urgency relating to the site, all staff members are listed on the staff page.

    General Disclaimer:
SDC reserves the right to modify these guidelines as needed in the future. SDC reserves the right to edit or delete any posts or material that does not adhere to or comply with these guidelines. We also reserve the right to ban individuals who repeatedly violate these guidelines, or abuse any system put in place by SDC to help enforce them. To ensure that the forum guidelines are enforced the moderators have the ability to edit, move, rename or delete all content posted to the public forums, which includes but is not limited to Threads, Posts and Polls. Notification or an explantion of these actions by SDC to make content fall within these guidelines is not required.

Violation of these guidelines could result in any of the following:
    1. Warning being issued.
    2. Posts being moderated before they go on public forum.
    3. Either a permanent or temporary ban.
The action that is taken will depend on the severity of the violation.

    Warn System:
(Each member can see their warn status, but not that of others.)
    1. Each warning issued carries a 20% warn level increase.
    2. After 90 consecutive days of no further infractions 20% will be removed. It’s the offender’s responsibility to notify SDC to lower warn percentage after time passes.
    3. If a member reaches 100% they will be placed in a moderation queue. Where all posts must be approved by SDC before they are posted.
    4. After 6 consecutive months in moderation queue with no further infractions warn level will be set to 0%. Member will be placed back in appropriate group.
    5. If member reaches 100% a second time they will be placed in a view only group for life.

SDC reserves the right to accelerate these steps, or temporarily place an account in a view only group if it feels the account is being used just to cause discord among other members.

Remember posts reflect upon you. Have fun and welcome to the community.
