I strive to breed versatile dogs that will use their eyes, ears, and nose to locate game.

Although I mostly hunt for squirrels I also hunt rabbits, 'coons, and upland game birds with my dogs. I primarily hunt recreationally with my dogs but have begun to dabble in the competition realm.

While hunting ability in my dogs is my primary focus, I also breed to balance the admirable breed characteristics that also make the Mountain Feist a desirable companion for an active rural family. My dogs excel at both.

The pedigrees of my dogs include some well-known bloodlines such as: Cadillac Jack, Buckley, Sport Model and Kemmer.

My feist dogs came DIRECTLY out of the Appalachian Mountains!

Jeter is a nice young male (8-month old pup) owned by Billy Coumbe down in MS. Jeter is makin' us proud! He is out of Gray's Lone Ranger x Gray's Circle R Rosie.

It's a Gray Feist sighting! This little dog belongs to Angus Smith in NC and is out of Gray's Lone Ranger. Reported to be the best dog he's ever had!!!

We have been havin' a good spring. Working young dogs, gettin' ready for a litter of pups, mushroom huntin' and doin' a little fishin'. I'm a little behind on calls/e-mails lately but I will try and catch up with y'all soon. Gave a couple squirrel dog interviews for articles, wrote a mushroom huntin' article and our Gray's Feist Forum has had some activity. Gettin' good pup reports from more 2012 and earlier pups. Gray's Lone Ranger is doin' great down in Louisiana. Planning on revamping our website again and look forward to huntin' with as many people as we can this coming squirrel season. Been REAL busy at work lately.

Gettin' good reports on the litter our partner Byron Melton at TGR Mountain Feist raised. They are out of Gray's Kit Carson x TGR River Queen. Turning out to be a good cross. We have a male here and other littermates are treeing.


Brad Whitmire has this to say about his 6 month old female, TN Mountain Queen (aka Dolly):

"Always lookin for the next one. This is right after I shot one out to her, Still have it in my hand."
