Being a houndsman is an ongoing and life long endeavor for nearly fifty years. I have passionately coon hunted for most of those years. Now the hills seem steeper and the cold swamps are less appealing to traipse through I am really enjoying squirrel hunting. In the past I had squirrel hunted w/ hounds and in recent years I have come to enjoy the American feist breed. Their personality and the pleasure raising them and training them brings much enjoyment to my family. I have also made new acquaintences that I otherwise would not have. I am pursuing squirrel dogs both for pleasure and for competition hunting. The feist breed seems to satisfy my entusiasm for a good tree dog My beagles are generally now just for pleasure and my son loves to rabbit hunt with me when he can. <br />Year round my other interests are pan fishing which I love to do with my wife and ice fishing with my son.
