  1. Jessee I know you made a pretty long road trip with Mr. Gerald "Sam" Bridges up to Ohio to pick up a male pup that he bought off of Mr. Dave Woofter that was out of Roper's Buck and Roper's Penny. Mr. LP Thornsburg and I gave both of those dogs to Mr. Dave and he made a cross over them and he was selling some of the pups and "Sam" bought one of them. When that pup "Jack" was around 5 months old he got hit and killed by a vehicle while Sam was hunting him solo. Before Jack got killed I had made a cross over Toby and Katy and I had given Sam "Precious" before weaning age. When Jack got killed, Sam text me and told me what had happened to him and he told me to keep Precious because he did not want to start off with another pup at weaning age. I know Sam takes great care of his dogs and he spends a lot of one on one time with them year round. At the end of the season I decided I was going to cut back on my dogs so I called LP Thornsburg and asked him did he want Katy back and if he did I would pay a dog hauler to pick her up at my house and deliver her to his house. I know he had her for sell on Face Book for $3,500 when he gave her to me. I wanted to give her back to him if he wanted her and I told him I would give him Magnum to go with her if he wanted both of them. Well he "PRAYED" about it for about a week before he text me back and told me he knew he would not have enough time to hunt them like they needed hunted. I have to say, LP is one of the most honest young men I have ever met!!! He could have got both of those dogs and sold them for a very good price and I know he and his family could have used the money. I thought about it for about a week before I called Sam and told him I would give him Katy if he wanted her. I decided I would keep Magnum and hunt him another season and see how he turns out. I did tell Sam if he decided he wanted to get rid of Katy to bring her back to my house and put her back into her kennel. Katy is a above average Feist female and I hope he enjoys owning and hunting her for several seasons. If all goes according to plans, Sam is suppose to come pick her up one day this weekend. I know I do not get to hunt enough anymore to hunt 3 dogs solo like they need hunted. And I do not like to keep a dog if I can not hunt it like it needs hunted. Sam will be able to hunt Katy more then I will and she is still getting better and better each season she is hunted. Precious and Magnum needs all the one on one hunting I can give them for the next few seasons. Jessee I hope you can get out and catch some of those big old Trout. Take care and good luck when you go. Jerry
  2. Jessee that litter of pups will give you something to enjoy messing with when they get here. It is good to see Cracker is still throwing some pups at his age. Good luck with Mama and all the pups. Take care. Jerry
  3. State Line Dave's Dam Lady to those 2 pups is a half Sister to my Toby male Feist. Lady's Dam on NKC Reg. Papers is Roper's Termite. Termite's Sire is Roper's Sport and her Dam is Turner's Mayham. This may give a little more info about the Dam Lady side of her breeding. Jerry
  4. Some times we want to keep and do keep more of them than we have time to start and train. LOL I am speaking from past experience when I kept 3 littermates Sport, Pistol, and Baby. For the next 6 seasons, Squirrel Season became a full time job for me hunting them one on one plus their Sire Copper and Dam Daisy along with other pups that was given to me during those seasons. LOL If I like a pup/dog I normally keep it for 6 seasons and see how they end up before I breed them or give them away. Then I normally get a pup out of them to mess with and hope to keep and hunt for about 6 more years. I bred my Daisy female when she was 6 years old and when she was 9 years old. I kept 3 pups out of her first litter, 2 males Sport and Pistol, and I kept 1 female Baby, and I kept 1 female pup out of her last litter Little Daisy. I used all 4 of those dogs in my breeding program that I Line Breed that helped reproduce the dogs I own and hunt today. Take care and good luck with your new pup/pups and all the rest of your dogs this season. Jerry
  5. Steeler, it is neat to see a new litter of pups and see how much difference there is in color and marking. One or 2 out of a litter may not look at all like their Sire or Dam but they do look like one of their back Ancestors in their Pedigree. Very nice well bred pups that should make good Combo type tree dogs if they get into the right hunters hands that knows how to train them. Good luck this season with all your pups/dogs. Jerry
  6. Sorry to hear you are having health problems at this time and they are not getting any better. Age and health problems will catch up with all of us if we live long enough and we have to stop doing things that we have done for many many years. Our dogs are one of the last things we want to give up but at some point we have to because we cannot take care of them anymore. You have done a great job breeding and selling a great Line of Feist for a long time. Many people "ME INCLUDED" have enjoyed owning and hunting some of your Bloodline of Feist. Every person I have given a pup/young started dog/older well trained dog to during the last 23 years, has owned and hunted some of your Bloodline of Feist. My Bonnie Female that my buddy Mr. Wayne Cagle bought at weaning age that he raised and started and gave to my Nephew Frankie Roper when she was around 8 months old was a direct daughter off your "Black Jack" dog that your raised, started, trained and sold to Mr. Bates when he was 4 years old that became well known in the Comp World as Cad. Jack. Bonnie was the Dam to my male Feist Copper and My female Feist Old Daisy. They were half brother and sisters off 2 different good male Feist Roper's Jay and Veach's Buddy. When I bred Copper to Old Daisy, I doubled up on Bonnie's Genetic Traits and doubled up on your Bloodline of Feist in that litter of pups. My Sport, Pistol, and Baby dogs were off that half brother and half sister cross and they were heavy in your Bloodline of Feist. Again I am sorry that you are having health problems. I will be praying for you that God's will be done in your life. Take care and thanks for letting us know about your health problems and why you are selling all your pups/dogs at this time. Jerry
  7. All of them are nice looking healthy pups! Each person sees things in a certain pup out of a litter that they like better than the other pups. I personally like the one with the White Trim on it the best just because of the way it is colored and marked up. I do hope you get each one of them in some serious hunters hands that knows how to start off with a 6 week old pup and train it. No matter how well they are bred they cannot train themselves in their kennel. Thanks for sharing. Take care and have a great day. Jerry
  8. Danial, I hope some good experienced hunters buy them so they will have a good chance becoming what you bred them to be one day in the future. Thanks for sharing. Take care and have a great day. Jerry
  9. Good looking pup. Good luck with it I hope it pleases you when you get it trained. Thanks for sharing and take care. Jerry
  10. If you like the Feist you own at this time, I would go back to the same breeder that you bought it from and try to buy me a female pup off the same Sire or same Dam of your pup, so you can make a half brother and sister cross one day in the future and stay in the same line of Feist. "JMO only!" Something to think about while you are looking for your next Feist pup before you buy it. Good luck with your next pup. Jerry
  11.   Mr. Dave Woofer bred Buck and Penny yesterday so it will be around 58 to 63 days before they will be born. Then it will be 6 more weeks before they will be weaned and ready to go to their new home. If you are interested in one of them call him and get on the list first. Take care. Jerry

      Roper's Feist

Several different people from Ohio and the surrounding states that is on Face Book with Mr. Jessee Luther has been reading about and seeing some pictures of my X male Buck Feist dog and my X female Penny Feist dog treeing some squirrels while their new owner is enjoying hunting both of them one at a time. Mr. Dave that owns them and Mr. Luther will not give anyone my info because I do not sell my dogs or normally stud my dogs out. Mr. Dave is 73 years old and he has been breeding his own line of English Blue Tick Coon dogs ever since the 70's. He still owns and hunts 2 of his females Hounds he raised and trained at this time. He was looking for some Fiest that he could enjoy hunting in Ohio at his age. He has owned a few Feist in the past that he said hunted deeper than he wanted his squirrels dogs to hunt at his age today. Jessee Luther and Dave have been friends on Face Book for some time now and Jessee gave Dave my info so we could get to know one another. After talking with Dave on the phone I decided to help him get Buck and Penny to squirrel hunt with this season. He liked Bucks looks at first because of his "PRICKED" ears better than he liked Penny's looks because of her "COCKED" ears. LOL  Now Dave is a 100% Hound man saying this about the looks of the ears on 2 different Feist. LOL After he took Penny hunting her first time and she treed 5 squirrels that he saw, he said she looked just as good as Buck did when she was upon the sided of the tree, Treeing Mr. Squirrel. LOL He said her Cocked ears stood up perfectly straight just like Buck's Pricked ears did when she was treeing. I was squirrel hunting myself that morning when I got 2 miss calls form Dave after his first hunt with Penny. He could not wait to tell me how well she did for him her first hunt. He said, when he turned her loose she got treed as quick as a cat could lick its butt. She did not scratch around and pee on everything like Buck did the first time he turned him loose. He said, I think I like Penny better than I do Buck as far as the way she gets gone and gets tree so quick when he turns her loose. He also said, he had always been partial to "FEMALES" because normally they are all business when he turned them loose to go hunting. It is always good to talk with someone I give my Feist to or help them get some of my Feist that knows how to hunt them and what to expect out of them when they are Pleasure hunting them. He said, Buck and Penny both has a home as long as they live or as long as he lives. Buck's Sire is my Sport dog and Penny's Dam is my Baby female. Sport and Baby were full litter mate brother and sisters off my Copper and Old Daisy Feist dogs that were half brother and sisters. My Bonnie Fiest female that was a direct Daughter off the famous Cad. Jack male Feist were both of their Dam. Dave did say, when Penny came into season he was breeding her to Buck and try to raise and train a pup or two out of them while he is still young enough to train them. I wish Dave all the luck in the world with both of them. They are his to enjoy breeding and hunting as long as he has the health to do both. Thanks for reading. Now y'all know why this man is wanting my info. Take care and have a great day. Jerry

  13. Good morning. This morning when I did my Bible post on here it ask me for my Email Address. I do not have a Email Address and never have had one. My wife signed me up on SDC and used her Email Address which is That is the only Email Address I have to put on here. Take care and have a great day. Jerry

  14. They are all nice looking pups. It is neat to see one come out looking like a pure full blooded Stephens Cur with all the white trim on it. Thanks for sharing. Jerry
  15. Chris, bring that old Yellow and White Feist male that has a little of my old bloodline in it down to my house and "GIVE" it to me and go get you one of those pups and try one out for yourself. Problem solved! LOL That will give you space for one of those pups. Something to think about. Take care. Jerry
