I strive to breed versatile dogs that will use their eyes, ears, and nose to locate game.

Although I mostly hunt for squirrels I also hunt rabbits, 'coons, and upland game birds with my dogs. I primarily hunt recreationally with my dogs but have begun to dabble in the competition realm.

While hunting ability in my dogs is my primary focus, I also breed to balance the admirable breed characteristics that also make the Mountain Feist a desirable companion for an active rural family. My dogs excel at both.

The pedigrees of my dogs include some well-known bloodlines such as: Cadillac Jack, Buckley, Sport Model and Kemmer.

My feist dogs came DIRECTLY out of the Appalachian Mountains!

Marc,

I know someone in Oregon that hunts a variety of different game. The also hunt Patterdales. I sold them 2 pups 2 or 3 years ago that they hunt squirrel and coon with. Anyway they actually hunt the working terriers to help remove a variety of problem vermin from people's properties. I will try and get in touch with them about Cricket.

Nice! :signthankspin:

If she has to go, I want her to go to someone that can handle a working terrier.

Folks:

Keep your eyes peeled for Gray's Mountain Feist during the upcoming squirrel season! As of right now, here are my plans other than hunting around the house here in Virginia...These are subject to change because of work but I will be all over :roflmao:

-At least one AFBA Hunt (OH, GA, KY etc.?) and multiple ODSCC Hunts in Northern Virginia.
-2 weeks in Southwest Virginia in September.
-A week in North Central Missouri around Christmas/New Year's.
-A couple long weekends camping with the dogs in the National Forest in Western Virginia.

Looking good!

Marc,

Did you have to mount the box up high in order to get it above the wheel wells of the bed? If so... been there and done that!

I did have to mount it about 4-5 inches off the bed. It's okay because I can throw stuff like bowls and critters under there! I got too good of a deal on it from an SDC member (Jeff Hoke) on it to turn it down. I am tall enough that it works! :roflmao:
