ATFA Yearbook Ads

It is time to start thinking about your ad for the 2010-2011 ATFA Yearbook. The deadline for yearbook ads is April 15th. The price of ads will be $40 per page this year. With the purchase of a single page ad you get your 2011-2012 (single or immediate family) membership free!

Members who provide an email address will receive a proof of your ad for review before the yearbook is published.

We are encouraging every member to place an ad in the yearbook! When you think about the ATFA, the first thing that comes to mind is family atmosphere. So, if you donít have a dog you want to brag about, feel free to brag on your children or grandchildren in the yearbook!!

Claffey Printing in Augusta, Georgia will continue printing the ATFA Yearbook. Their first ATFA yearbook was the 2000-2001 volume. This will be there 11th ATFA Yearbook.

What makes a great ad?

I am glad you asked. A good ad starts with the pictures. Please avoid Polaroid pictures. Pictures with good contrast between the background and the dog work best. Be sure to label all pictures. Clearly print or type the text for your ad. Digital pictures work best. Printed pictures have to be scanned and image quality can be lost in the scanning process.

For the best results and convenience, digital pictures and text documents can be sent to the following email address:

atfayearbook@bellsouth.net

The yearbook is printed in black and white. So, if you really want to see what your pictures will look like, convert them to black and white. If you are computer savvy there are software programs that will convert your color pictures to black and white.

What do I need to send?

1. Color or Black & White pictures
2. Printed or typed text
3. Completed ATFA Yearbook Form
4. Payment

Send all information, pictures and payments to:

The ATFA is different from other organizations hosting hunts in that the ATFA requires a minimum of 20 entries before a win counts toward squirrel champion. The Board of Directors weighs numerous factors in setting its hunt schedule for the year. Some of those factors include:

Local participation
Participation at other hunts (if a state is requesting a hunt, how many people from that state participated in the hunts of other states)
Driving distance
How likely is the hunt to draw 20 dogs

The best way to bring an ATFA hunt into your area is to be willing to travel to other states and support those hunts first. The second key is gauging local participation.

The ATFA hosted 12 hunts at 7 locations in 5 states this past season.

I would love to see hunts in Arkansas and Missouri again.

Gas prices are fixing to make it hard for everyone to travel as much as they have in the past.

Cool deal, Randy. Just got my newsletter yesterday. My $40 is in the mail (seriously). The only edit I believe my ad from last year needs is to update my website link. It is now, http://www.graysfeist.yolasite.com/

Yes, the newsletter is correct. I moved the due date to May 2nd because the newsletter was going to come out later than it did last year. I didn't make a post about the change because I didn't want all the procrastinators on SDC dragging it out to long...... :roflmao:

I usually work on ads and respond to emails concerning ads on Fridays. So if I don't respond to your email right away don't be alarmed, Friday will be here before you know it.
